For reservations please consult the tourist agency in the above address before June 1st, 2001. For a very limited number of participants from the former east-block countries accommodation in the Aristotle University Guest House is offered for ~ 20 US$ per day (no breakfast). In this case, reservations have to be done before May 1st, 2001 at the Conference Secretariat.

Thessaloniki is easily reached via its international airport [ MAKEDONIA airport] as well as road and train connections. There is a bus connection from the airport to Thessaloniki, but taxi prices are also cheap in Greece [ ~5 US$]. Late August, weather in Thessaloniki is generally warm, but may be still hot.


TRAVEL INFORMATION

EU citizens must posses a valid identity card [or passport].Participants requiring a visa should apply to the Greek consular offices or diplomatic missions in their countries as soon as possible to obtain a visa or to determine their particular requirements. For citizens of former east-block countries this procedure may last several months and they will eventually need an invitation letter. For the invitation please consult the Conference secretariat as soon as possible providing passport number, names [ as in passport], birth place and date.
